Thursday 10pm

Working back in a rush before Christmas, the lateness of the hour tempered by daylight savings and the murmer of Christmas parties in the city bars below.

Take away sushi lies open in polysterene on my desk and below the streetlights are beginning to mark a pathway down the freeway along the river as the tap-tap-tap-tap of my keyboard echoes through the silent office.

I am energised by a challenging day. Unexpectedly at peace with many things that previously were wearing me down; sitting in the muscles of my shoulders and disturbing my dreams.

Now is the time for resolutions. New experiences and new years bring old friends closer. Old habits will be broken and new habits formed.

My resolution is to try to be calmer. To experiment with stepping back and assessing before reacting. In all things.
